A dear friend told me a story about something she experienced four years ago. She met someone in another city and state, and wanted to send a message to the abyss.
She says that she harbors no ill feelings and has never saved physical artifacts from the encounter. Although she had ample opportunity to capture photos for keepsake, she never did. After all, she is a bit old fashioned in her respect for privacy of others, as she would hope for in return. Deep down she was a little bothered at being played, but realizes now that she put herself in the game.
Her curiosity always got the better of her, but as she ages, these distractions must be put to rest so she may focus on new opportunities.
The only thing she keeps are the cerebral memories, which will fade in time.
