The Mexican Boys

Too trusting and curious by nature

I would make friends with anyone
There were these Mexican boys
In our neighborhood
They let me tag a long
I was maybe five or six,
don’t really remember
Or maybe
They told me to go away
Details are vague
Like a homeless stray animal
I stayed
They took me to an alley
One of them told me to lay down
I cried, I was scared
Don’t worry
Have faith
I was saved by one of the others
I pray he is a compassionate leader now

For those who have lost their way
